The brief of this project was to produce a cardboard machine that "effectively integrates machine elements, sensors, actuators, and embedded processors to perform an engaging physical interaction". Meeting these criteria I created SHOOTOUT, a game where the user aims with a joystick at the targets on the lcd screen. Once aligned they must shout a phrase to fire, such as "Bang!", and the corresponding physical target will 'fall' over with the turn of a servo arm. This repeats for each target, and once all are hit, the user receives a score out of 100, which takes into account the time taken to hit all the targets, as well as reductions for any missed shots.
